The 2012 Collection was inspired by the original 1968 film "The Thomas Crowne Affair", with the iconic Faye Dunaway. She was our inspiration throughout the Development of our designs. We wanted to capture that classic flair with our details, colors and effortlessly chic prints. The unique beach dunes of the East Coast provided the perfect backdrop for the collection - we could only have hoped for Steve McQueen to pull up in his red dune buggy! Enjoy!!
Cyn & Luca's 2012 Collection
About Cyn & Luca
Cynthia Ricciardi, graduated with a BFA degree in Fashion Design from Otis Art Institute/Parsons School of
Design in Los Angeles. She worked on Seventh Avenue for Liz Claiborne and most notably for Adrienne Vittadini
where for eight years, she was head designer of the swimwear collection and launched their intimate and loungewear.
She then went on her own, and started CYN & LUCA in 2001.
"I love the beach. I feel so rejuvenated when I am near water and sunshine. Naturally, I wanted to design a swimwear collection that reflected that attitude".
My image is of a woman who is confident and sexy... whose inner strength is expressed through her sense of style. She is inspired by exotic places and loves to travel to them. She loves life and freedom, she is strong and adventurous but never reckless.
I specialized as a swimwear and sportswear designer for over eight years in the design house of Adrienne Vittadini. My suits have been on covers and featured in several fashion magazines such as Sports Illustrated and Harper's Bazaar, Fitness, Women's Wear Daily and Victoria's Secret Catalog.
CYN & LUCA is a sleek collection for the modern woman. It features the finest European imported yarns, sophisticated and technologically advanced printing. We focus on quality and construction in out suits. Most recognizable for us is our original print designs and novelty color combinations. Because CYN & LUCA is based in New York City, we are immersed in the unique creative energy and edge that is truly inspirational.
